About me

I've always loved photography; even from childhood I remember begging my father to let me use
his Olympus SLR. Thankfully I had an indulgent father and I was able to appreciate the play of
light and dark, the rolling landscapes of childhood, the wonderful seascapes of north Scotland
and the ability to freeze a moment in time forever.
I think that alone was the true enjoyment, being able to look back and see that moment, to
understand that this picture was the only record of that moment other than memory. Where
memory sometimes fades and alters perception, photography is a permanent reminder of what was.

A true moment frozen in time.
I grew up, and still live, in central Scotland it is a beautiful place to live. The wonderful countryside has any number of photographic opportunities. From the Lochs in summer to the hills in winter, Scotland is a photographer's dream. The people aren't all that bad either!
